Ora Wine and Tapas is a standout destination nestled in the heart of Belfast at 12 Great Victoria Street, offering a vibrant and sophisticated tapas bar and restaurant experience that masterfully blends Asian influences with traditional small-plate dining. This intimate yet lively venue invites guests into a world of bold, well-balanced flavors where every dish is a celebration of craftsmanship and creativity.
The culinary journey here is nothing short of exceptional. Diners rave about the expertly curated menu, featuring irresistible crowd-pleasers such as the Chicken Bang Bang—a dish bursting with crunchy textures and a perfect harmony of pickled chili and toasted sesame—and the succulent Confit Baby Back Ribs glazed with Hoisin, which deliver a rich, sticky-sweet glaze that clings lovingly to tender meat. For those seeking more indulgence, the Ora "Bolognaise" Braised Beef Cheek Open Lasagne offers a sophisticated twist on a classic, layered with roasted tomato sauce and shaved Parmesan that gently melts on the palate.
Seafood enthusiasts are equally delighted by the fresh Garlic Prawns and the delicately crispy Mushroom, Prawn, and Pork Dumplings, each bite showcasing an exquisite balance of flavors and textures. Accompany your meal with native oysters or the smoky Barbecue Padron Peppers crowned with spiced sourdough crumb and black vinegar for a tangy kick. To round out your tapas feast, the skinny fries with shaved Parmesan and truffle mayo are a decadent side that satisfies every craving.
Dessert lovers are in for a treat with the house specialty Bread and Butter Pudding, a decadently moist and comforting finale that, according to customer Dermot Higgins, might just steal the show. The toffee tart also provides a luscious, caramelized sweetness that rounds out the meal perfectly.
The atmosphere at Ora Wine and Tapas is buzzing yet intimate, ideal for sharing moments with friends or savoring a quiet, indulgent evening. Many guests find themselves charmed not just by the food but also by the bar experience, where watching expert mixologists craft cocktails like the Ora New York Sour and spicy margaritas adds an engaging and sensory layer to the evening. The friendly and knowledgeable staff, including sommeliers who expertly guide wine selections, ensure that each visit is personalized and memorable.
Customers consistently praise the restaurant’s warm hospitality and vibrant ambiance. Jennifer Vidrine fondly noted how even seating at the bar enhanced her experience by letting her witness cocktail artistry up close, while Karen highlighted the lively and welcoming service that kept her group entertained for hours. Though the weekend rush may occasionally slow service, as Mr P observed, it never detracts from the overall magnificent dining experience.
Whether you are a local or a visitor, Ora Wine and Tapas invites you to immerse yourself in an unforgettable culinary adventure where bold flavors, innovative dishes, and exceptional drinks converge to delight every sense. This is dining that leaves you not just satisfied but genuinely uplifted, a rare gem in Belfast’s ever-evolving food scene.
Great wine bar and restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing - small sharing plates of Asian influenced tapas. We ordered chicken bang bang, scallops, pork belly, duck leg and dumplings. I can’t pick a favourite, everything was spot on. And the sommelier was so helpful in choosing the right wines. Full transparency, we also ordered the bread and butter pudding. This may have been our favourite.
We booked here last minute as we arrived in Belfast for a weekend away.. Such an amazing place! The food was incredible. We had 6 dishes to share but the menu looked so good we struggled to pick! The house cocktails were really good as was the wine. There was only seats at the bar when we booked but that was still really fine and we got to see all of the cocktails been made. Staff super friendly and helpful and a really special yet relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!
MAGNIFICENT DINING! Food was incredible. All offerings were affordable and lovely. Hit the spot and made me smile like a Cheshire Cat. Wine selection by the glass was vast. Service was a little slow but it was Saturday night and they sat us 6 mins late to our table but who cares.
Me and my girlfriend went for a meal in Ora at the weekend and I can happily say this was the best meal I've had in a long time. The menu was full of tasty dishes. We ordered several dishes and they were all perfect, full of flavour my favourite being the cabbage dish. Staff were great especially Padraig who served us. I would highly recommend visiting the restaurant for dinner.
A group of 5 of us booked in for tapas and drinks before a show. Everything was exceptional. The food, service & drinks. The waiter had us laughing for 2 hours!! They were super helpful with picking dishes and how many to get. The food and spicy margaritas were the best I have had in a long time. Highly recommend.
Fantastic place, nice atmosphere, friendly enthusiastic staff, small plates tapas style. Really delicious food and good choice of dishes. The BBQ chicken, cod fritters, cheese board, crème brûlée, mussels and scampi were all extremely tasty - great flavours beautifully seasoned and delivered at a good rate - will be back - highly recommend
Fantastic food - tasty, well presented and full of flavour. The service was excellent and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Good variety of dishes for vegetarian, fish and meat eaters which our party consisted of. A great recommendation from a friend Would definitely return.
